Kayla Comer

Hi. I'm a first-year PhD student at Northwestern University in the CommNet Lab. I graduated from Purdue University in December 2020 with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
My research interests are in timeliness and reliability of communications and networks.
Feel free to reach out for more information about my current research or past experiences.
Projects
Google Summer of Code
The summer before I started my PhD, I contributed to GNU Radio on a Forward Error Correction project sponsored by Google Summer of Code. I reported my progress through weekly blog posts, which you can review here. As I find the time, I plan to continue contributing to my GNU Radio project from the summer.
Argonne
The Summer Undergraduate Laboratory Internship is a great opportunity for undergraduates and recent college graduates (within two years) to explore a new research area and gain exposure to a national laboratory over a short period of time. In spring 2024, I was a SULI intern at Argonne National Laboratory working on CV2X research in support of the EcoCAR EV Challenge.
